Flakes, Flurries but no Worries, mon

There are times when many things happen but it never amounts to anything. Today is a prime example:

There have been major snow flurries and mondo flakes, but it didn't amount to anything. No depth.

I had major issues at work with my project, but it didn't amount to anything. Massive email traffic, disputes between our customer and our customer's customer, but to no avail--my job was done and my customer's customer is pleased with the work. Flurries, Flakes but no worries, mon.

I have walking around with a flippity flop, whippity womp, stomach ache. Not sure if I am suffering from a mild case of food poisoning or I ate the wrong combination of dinner and dessert two days (okay, so maybe black beans and rice doesn't set well with ice cream(lactose free), but who knew?), flip flop, whatever. . . but no worries, mon. This too shall pass.

Knitting you say? Have I done any knitting? dribs, drabs and such, but no depth. No worries, mon. It will soon come. And. then. I'll post.

Am I the only person who

  • Gets ticked off because a driver has cut you off in traffic, driving as if their car was on fire only to meet you at the red light? It was red as he was speeding by, whipping in front of you so that s/he could be an e n t i r e car ahead for the next light you encounter!
  • Wonders how you never have trouble waking on Friday mornings, but Monday through Thursday seem like no matter what, you are not squeezing those eyelids open before 7:00 am? (believe it or not, I used to be at my desk with my second cup of coffee by 6:30am daily. Now, I'm happy if I tip into the office by 10:00am)
  • Feels that Saturdays are somehow the shortest day of the week and Monday is definitely the longest. Dunno how it happens, but oh I can feeeel the hours rush by like a wave on Saturday, but Mondays dribble along like your first plop of ketchup before the knife goes in!
  • Thinks of dinner at least once during Church on Sunday? I did this mostly as a kid, but I find myself doing it now as an adult. At least my mom used to actually have a meal prepared to daydream about. . .I rarely do--therein lies the rub.

Has nothing special to say or display on their blog but wants to check in and so goes on and on about nothing? Have a purly weekend everyone!

Guilty Pleasure

Now, I don't really remember how I found out about this site, could've been one of my knit waves I was coasting on, or an ad I saw while reading the weekly Knitter's Review. All I know is I began salivating as I went to Posh Yarn's site and decided last summer I was going to learn how to knit socks if it killed me, and I was going to join "sock club." Well here is the first installment:

It's a cashmere/merino blend. Could I have found something at a LYS. Probably. Would I even have found a site within the lower 48 that would have saved me a few pennies? Most likely. But I tell ya receiving a little brown package from across the pond each month with no idea what's coming. . .is truly "posh." Uh, sorry--I couldn't help it.

Must see cinema

Usually, I don't go out of my way to push movies for which I am not receiving any royalties, but I thought, it's a New Year and I'm always up for doing a new thing. I may be biased in that I am a fan of action movies. . .however, this has a seriousness to it that I thought was worth watching. for history buffs, it is not a new story; for those not well versed on the diamond industry, it will fill in some blanks. Just a few days after watching this movie, I saw the authentic story on the History Channel. If anyone goes to see it, please let me know what you thought of the movie. The camera work was fabulous! I've always thought Africa to be a beautiful continent--this movie captured its beauty; must visit Africa. On my to do list for 2007

This movie works on so many levels~I believe it is based on a novel. . .I just have to read the novel~it's one of those movies that you have to search out as it doesn't seem to be in wide release. I had to travel to DC to see this one, but worth it! I happen to like Dame Judi and Cate, so if you don't it may not be the movie for you. It is a Brit Flick, so I suppose it is one of those Indie films, but it is actually very entertaining.

Okay, my first purly wisdom for the New Year. Let me know if you see or like this one as well.

Knitting? I am about to complete the last WIP I showed y'all before the end of year, so yea!

Will post tomorrow if time permits. Toodles!
