Third sock's a charm

Not to be beaten by the sock, I am giving it another
chance. I've decided that I will not be defeated by 3, 4 or even 5 dpns.
I will not allow short row heels slow me down nor will I allow
the picking up of stitches to deter me from my goal: an entire
pair of socks!

And to that end, here is the beginning of my
sockorama:

I shall not be moved.

Gone, but not forgotten

The Sheep and wool festival, that is. Although I only spent an hour (had a jam packed day; that and major traffic trying to get parked), I tried to snap a few pictures for my dad who loves sheep, so I tried to capture a couple.

I think sheep are some of the most gentle animals. So cool and laid back:

To think that something with such grand locks can turn into something so yummy to knit:

Once I saw this, I had to buy it--'nuff said.

this month's poshy goodness

This month's poshy sock club was a substitution due to the shop owner not receiving her dyeable yarn shipment on schedule. So, instead of a cashmere and merino blend, it was a lambswool, cashmere, angora blend. I just knew I would hate it, but it feels just as soft as the ones before it. It doesn't really look like a sock weight yarn; more a dk or worsted (which is the smaller of the two?) Either way, I think it is a good color. Whadda ya think?

My favorite shower photos

While baby "newborn" (whose name I shall not mention to protect the innocent) is now a week old, I just couldn't resist posting these photos of him and his hot mama:

one day he'd like to know that while he was preparing to enter this world, that his mum was out doing silly things like, say, monkeying around:

but when it was all said and done, she was just happy to have a new kind of stash:

Baby stashes are much more fun (next to knitting stashes, that is)

Believe it or not, I still knit from time to time

I knitted these bibs for a knitting pal and I couldn't post until now. The shower was just a week ago (right?) and as grace would have it, she delivered baby boy the next day! He couldn't wait to hang out with moms and pops. Peace and blessings, little one~
