I'm Baaaaaccccckkkkk!

OMG! There are few words that can describe what I experienced in the last two weeks! Joy, pain, laughter, sorrow, discernment, purpose. Yet, there is more. I met some people in South Africa (SA) who are clearly poor and without the basic necessities, but proud to be alive, faith-filled and filled with lovingkindness. They had a great understanding of conservation of resources and being grateful for what little they posessed.

Here is a photo from one of the schools we visited. This is the 1-3 year old group. I and the youngest member of our group, Jonathan Henderson, got stuck on this group:

This little one, came across from the other side of the room, just to grab a hold of Jonothan's leg. It was so sweet. He was a quiet child.

Isn't this sister regal in her dress:

Unfortunately, I came back with as dreadful a cold as the one I had 2 weeks before the trip (my roommate, who happened to be one of the doctors, was sick-yuck). Oh, well. Thank goodness for insurance. I will be back in rare form soon. Then I can really give you a sense of the wonder that is Africa.
